Hello!

Hello, this is Mayumi, I'm writing from Japan.

I ...

  • am a mother of one girl (cheerful, very curious and warm-hearted. Loves Japanese comedians.)
  • am a wife of a software engineer (he's now finding a job! ; _; someone, find him!!)
  • work as a full-time worker
  • am an optimistic person
  • am a health freak
  • love reading books
  • am bad at math
  • but am interested in AI and cosmic wonders
  • am not good at cooking
  • but am foodie

In this blog I will write all sorts about Japan.

Food, new & old culture, wired & funny things, music, news, work and education...etc.

Also information around my area for visitors, well, I'm living in Kansai area where the food is nice and not expensive like in Tokyo. (it depends though!)

Title name, OKOME means RICE, is it known abroad? Not sure.

Anyway I named this blog OKOME because I thought it represents Japanese spirit the most.

We can be happy only with an onigiri and a pinch of salt!

Rice is one of the important essence of Japan.

Japan has lots of aspects, some are preferable and some are not.

But I love Japan and I hope this country will grown in a good way.

Not saying Japan Great Again.. I just want it be as a decent and simply good country which we all can be proud of.

So I decided mining things that usually skip away in front of me, looking at them a bit more carefully than before, and writing them in my words.

I hope this blog will appeal people in the world and give them an opportunity to know little more about Japan.
